Singaporeâs Garden City journey started 50 years ago. On 16 June 1963, then-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew planted a Mempat tree in Farrer Circus, signifying the beginning of Singapore’s greening efforts. To commemorate 50 years of Greening Singapore, the stamps come in biodegradable paper with the 1st local stamp affixed with the seed of the Portulaca Grandiflora for planting.

To grow your very own flowering stamp, follow these simple steps:
- Dip the stamp for 24 hours in a glass of water
- At the bottom of a pot of soil, put a layer of gravel or clay granules
- Fill the pot with soil to the ideal level for planting
- Sow the stamp facing upwards
- Cover with a thin layer of soil and press gently down
- Immerse the post in water for 10 minutes to moisten the soil (by letting the soil absorb some water)
- See your stamp grow
